West Fort Worth: Airfield Falls Area Trails

Creative Commons: QuesterMarl

A great option for a run and a dip! In west Fort Worth, there are more trails of the Trinity Trails system connecting several parks. One popular spot is Airfield Falls, a large natural waterfall. It’s 0.4 miles from the trailhead to the waterfalls. From there, continue on several miles of paved paths along the West Fork Trinity River.

West Option: You can head west to Burger’s Lake, which is 2.5 miles one-way from the Airfield Falls trailhead.

East Option: You can also head east to Rockwood Park, which is 3.5 miles. There are paths on both sides of the river (cross at Highway 183 or a small pedestrian bridge at the 2.5 mile mark). For even more miles, continue on the river path east of Rockwood Park — it’s 4.4 miles from Rockwood Park to downtown Fort Worth!
