There is some lovely waterfront running east of the main city of Genoa. In charming Nervi, a colorful fishing village, the Passeggiata Anita Garibaldi, is a dedicated seaside path that runs for 1.8 km, passing restaurants, shops, and ice cream spots, and ending at Capolungo Beach. For a nice detour, pop up to Parchi di Nervi, which features botanical gardens, old villas, and museums.

For a longer run, you can continue along the water, west of P. Anita Garibaldi. Continue on Via Giovanni Caboto, and then on V. Murcarolo. This section alternates between some nice waterfront and more commercial sections, but it’s runnable. After 2 km, the route gets beautiful along Via Quinto, with water views and along a seaside sidewalk for 2.5 km. The total between these two sections is 6.3 km one-way. A bus runs along the main road, and there are train stops in Quinto and Nervi.
