The Border Trail in Currumbin is the perfect blend of bush and residential running, not too far from civilization, but a pleasant escape from the busy beach boardwalks. This wide dirt multi-use path begins from Hidden Valley Reserve at the end of Border Drive. It then flows southwest around the Currumbin Waters neighborhood, skirting the border between Queensland and New South Wales. The trail ends at Currumbin Creek Road after 4 km, making for a nice 8 km out and back. Runners can get a little extra distance by starting at Tugun Hill Conservation Area or Tooloona Park.

The best bet for running in Gold Coast is to head for the shoreline. The Gold Coast Oceanway stretches along several sections of coast for a total of 36 km. We've mapped several sections.
