Guayaquil, Ecuador

Parque Samanes

Parque Samanes, on the north end of the city, is one of the few sizable parks in Guayaquil. It’s not overwhelmingly large, but there is a good selection of brick paths through open lawns and gardens. Runners will also find an array of stationary exercise equipment near the athletic fields and courts. Paths criss-cross all over the park, but we’ve mapped a 4 km loop around the perimeter. Adventurous runners can continue their route by crossing over the Av. Francisco de Orellana into Reserva Senderos. Here, wide dirt paths and bridges stretch through green forestland. A ciclovia around the perimeter of the forest is about 7 km. See this map of the Reserva.
