The Little Cataraqui Creek Conservation Area is a good spot for some trail running right in Kingston. It’s located 7 km north of downtown, just across from the 401 Freeway. It’s a popular recreation area, used for nordic skiing in winter. There are 14 km of trails through a combination of marsh, field, and forest habitat. The trails are generally gravel and there are a couple of boardwalks over scenic marshy areas. There’s an Outdoor Centre with parking, restrooms, and information about the trails.
This trail map shows some suggested loop options. The longest loop is the 6.7 km Reservoir Trail.
Note: in winter, the trails are track set for nordic skiing and running might not be permitted.
