Palavas-les-Flots is a beach resort located 15 km south of Montpellier. We’ve put together a unique 10k run highlighting the area’s unique geographic setting, including beaches along the Mediterranean, lakes bisected by the Lez River, and numerous quais around marinas and along canals. The route combines several ‘sections’.
Start right near the main port, at Transcanal. The first section is a 2 km out and back on a beachside promenade, Boulevard Sarrail. Next is a 3 km loop around the quais alongside the Lez River — an interesting setting of numerous waterways and marinas. Returning to the port area, run along the marina to a path that’s sort of a pier alongside the marina, out to the end (~1.5 km out and back). The final section is along Le Leban, out to an old fort, now housing the Musée Albert Dubout, and a jaunt around the pretty Parc du levant.
Add-Ons: Numerous other running opportunities in the area. See our Palavas-les-Flots overview, and Mireval posts.

Are there any group runs in Montpellier?
See the ‘Stores & Group Runs’ tab on our Montpellier running guide. Doesn’t look like the i-Run stores are doing group runs these days.
