The paths along and around Wöhrder Lake (See) are among our favorite running routes in Nuremberg. This is also a better option for water views then our Peglitz river to Fürth route. A particular highlight is the Norikusdamm, a path that runs literally across the lake.  We’ve mapped loops of 5 km and 8 km.

A good starting point is the Wöhrder Wiese transit stop, though you can also start right at the lake. Head east, on the south side of the Pegnitz River for ~1 km through the Wöhrder Wiese (woods). Then follow the scenic Norikusdamm over the lake, continuing on the Wöhrder Wiesenweg path.

Short Loop: Crosses to the northern side at the 2.3 km mark on the pedestrian path along the train tracks.

Long Loop: Continue for another 2 km on the south side, and cross over on a small bridge at the 4.3 km mark. Then head back along the Johann-Soergel-Weg path.

Add-Ons: Can continue on paths even further east than our turnaround point, roughly following the Pegnitz River. Also, at our start point, join the linear park path, including paths in Cramer-Klett Park, just north.
