Wood Lake Run

Google Street View

For a pleasant, flat waterfront run in the Okanagan Valley, we love the road alongside Wood Lake. The Pelmewash Parkway runs right along the water on the west side of the lake, and there’s a separated sidewalk/bike lane on the lake side of the road. It’s 7.5 km between the Wood Lake Marina at the south side of the lake and the Okanagan Rail Trail trailhead on the northern side. There are great views of the water and the surrounding hillside for nearly the entire way.

Lake Loop Option: It’s possible to do the full ~15 km loop of the lake, using the Okanagan Rail Trail on the east side of the lake.

Essentials
  • 7.5 km along western side, or ~15 km for full lake loop
  • Rolling hills -- not too steep in any section
  • Wood Lake Marina at the south side of the lake and the Okanagan Rail Trail trailhead on the northern side.
  • Parking lots near Wood Lake Marina or Okanagan Rail Trail trailhead
