Camden, NJ: Riverfront Path & Cooper River Trails

Google Street View

There are some good options for running in Camden, NJ, just over the river from Philadelphia Old City. There’s a pedestrian walkway over the Benjamin Franklin Bridge, as well as a cheap, regular ferry that runs between Penn Landing and Wiggins Waterfront Park.

Camden Waterfront. There’s about 1 mile of running on the Camden Waterfront, incorporating Wiggins Waterfront Park. and the Aquarium. This can be part of our ‘Two State River Run‘, incorporating the Philadelphia side of the Delaware River.

Cooper River Trail. There are some pleasant paths for running along the Cooper River. A paved loop on the path around Cooper River Lake, along N & S Park Dr. is 3.7 miles. To extend it, incorporate Farnham Park, which adds up to 3 miles. Farnham Park also has a running track.

  • Add-On: Pennypacker Park. For even longer, continue south of Cuthbert Blvd. along the north side of Park Blvd. for 1.5 miles, and then on pleasant paths through Pennypacker Park (not to be confused with Pennypack Park in Philly!). This adds up to 2.8 miles one-way.

Essentials
