One of the largest municipal parks in Canada, Rockwood Park boasts over 50 km of trails. Runners will find everything from asphalt pedestrian ways along the lakefronts, to crushed stone roads through evergreens, to dirt singletrack on secluded hillsides. Most runners start in the south end of the park, near Fischer and Lily Lake, but there are access points all along Sandy Point Road. This excellent trail map has detailed information on the numerous trail options, length, and level of difficulty. Two good options for road running or gentle trail running are Fisher Lake Drive (a 3 km paved road around two lakes) and the Zoo Trail. Or, follow the course of popular Rockwood Park races like the Rompin Rockwood or the Rockwood R.A.T. Race.

Trail runners will find some great options in Rockwood Park as well.
