The bay coast of Salvador also offers some great running. A beautiful waterfront promenade spans from Rio Vermelho east to Farol da Barra. From the lighthouse and fort, runners can bend north and continue along the Ave. Sete de Setembro walkway. The walkway officially ends at Praia do Porto da Barra, but it’s possible to run a bit further to explore the Forte Santo Antonio da Barra. All in all, the promenade is about 6 km one-way. Runners can also connect to the Avenida Octávio Mangabeira promenade for more distance.
