While Sarajevo doesn’t have many large parks for running, there is a cluster of green spaces heading north from the Old City along M18. With a few detours onto streets and sidewalks, runners can connect the chain of parks for a run of nearly 8 km. From the Skenderija Bus/Tram station, the route winds through the Đuro Đaković memorial, Mali Park, Veliki Park, Koševo park, and Park Betanija. The route also utilizes the bike path along M18 to form a loop with lots of visual interest. Runners can shorten the distance by turning around early, or extend the route by exploring the Miljacka River or the Old City.

Between Koševo park, and Park Betanija, notice some sites from the Sarajevo 1984 Winter Olympic games, some of which are still in use. There’s a running track near the Olympic Stadium. See our Olympics Route.
