Tampere Central Waterfront 5k

Creative Commons 4.0: Callesan

This 5 km run explores the central part of Tampere, on waterfront paths & parks along the Tammerkoski rapids. There are good options to add more waterfront running. (Note: puisto=park). There are great views of the water and the city.

Start on the east side of the Tammerkoski, at Työnpuisto/Satakunnansilta Bridge. Head south on the multi-use path along the water, through Koskipuisto Park to Ratina Park/Ratina Bridge. Do a loop around the park, and then cross over the to the west bank using the scenic Laukonsilta pedestrian bridge, to complete the small lake loop. Head back north on the  waterfront path briefly, and then cross the Hämeensilta Bridge to the western side of the Tammerkoski. Run through Kirjastonpuisto Park, then LEFT on Satakunnankatu to the Hämeenpuisto — a small linear park connecting the north & south shores of Tampere. Continue to the north shore, and do a loop around Näsi Park, crossing back over to the east side on the Palatsinraitti (pedestrian) Bridge.

Add-Ons: There are waterfront/park paths that extend along the north shore, south shore, and then further south. See each of those routes to design your own combination!
