Features:
In the Lentävänniemi district in the northwestern part of Tampere, there are some nice paths for running along the shores of Lake Näsijärvi. These are mainly dirt paths, combination of open and wooded, with some lake views. Overall the route has two ‘sections’, for a total distance of 8 km.
Start at Halkoniemi harbour. There’s a scenic pier, and then a wide dirt path that heads northeast along Lake Näsijärvi. Mainly wooded, with some lake views. This section can actually be a 3 km loop, following the path around Jänissaari Marina.
Returning to Halkoniemi harbour, there’s a short road connector to the path that runs south along the lake for 2.6 km to Hiedanranta harbour, passing Lielahti Manor. There are some nice open sections here, with birch trees and lake views. Overall this section is ~5 km out and back.
