Elk/Beaver Lake Perimeter Loop

Courtesy: Capital Regional Dstrict

About 10 km north of the city center, the 10 km loop around the perimeter of Elk and Beaver Lakes is a running pleasure. The gravel path is generally wooded, with water views along some sections. There are a couple of well-marked road sections, and km markers the whole way. There are a total of 15 km of walking trails. There are three main parking areas along different sections. In summer, there are concessions at the northern end of the lake. And it’s great for a post-run swim!

Add-Ons: there are additional trails good for walking. Also, the Cordova Bay neighborhood just to the east is lovely for running, with quiet streets and nice homes.

Essentials
  • 10.2 km (6.3 miles) loop
  • 300 feet
  • Any access point -- there are 3 main parking lots
  • Accessible via bus but easier by car
