Trail runners of all abilities will enjoy exploring Nerang State Forest, the huge green space just 10 km northwest of Gold Coast. This dry rainforest has many kilometers of forest roads, mountain bike trails, and pedestrian pathways. The terrain varies from steep and technical climbs to flat, smooth dirt tracks. Runners can start at any entrance and put together a DIY route. We’ve mapped a 15 km (9.5 mile) figure eight loop around some of the main fire roads. The route can also be split in half for a shorter run.
