This route explores several parks in eastern Tampere, primarily in the Tammela & Kaleva districts. Note: Puisto=Park.
Start in Sorsapuisto, a small urban park with a duck pond, and head east on a path into Liisanpuisto & Kiovanpuisto. There are pleasant paths in these parks, a swimming center, and the impressive Kaleva Church, which was opened in 1966. When you reach the highway at 2.5 km, turn north, cross Teiskontie, and then head back west through Litukanpuisto & Saukonpuisto. At the Tammela Stadium, turn right onto the small path headed north into the Annikki Wooden House District. Turn LEFT into Osmonpuisto Park, do a loop of the park’s paths, and complete the loop by returning to Sorsapuisto using Tammelan puistokatu.
