The Springwater Corridor Trail offers another opportunity for a longer distance off-road run in Portland. This paved multi-use trail stretches for 17 miles from Portland east to Boring. The scenery is a mix: woods, wetlands, buttes, agricultural fields and pastures, as well as residential neighborhoods and industrial areas.
The Portland end of the trail starts five miles south of downtown at SE 17th Ave. & SE Ochoco. Follow the trail east for as many miles as you like! Note that it’s a gradual uphill headed east, climbing nearly 800 feet over 17 miles.
Add-Ons/Variations: The Springwater Corridor Trail is part of a planned 40-mile Springwater Corridor Loop. The south end of the Springwater on the Willamette trail, which heads for 4 miles north to downtown Portland, is just 0.5 miles west at Sellwood Riverfront Park.
