The 16 km of promenade paths along the Caspian Sea in Baku are the highlight of running in Baku. The concrete paths are very wide, and open, passing through numerous parks, with great water views the whole way. Bonus: lit at night! We’ve divided the promenade into two routes, starting at Azneft Square. This route is 7 km north/east past New City Park to the Baku Marriott. Then, see our 9 km south/west route to Crystal Hall/Azərbaycan Dənizçilərinin Xatirəsinə (Memorial Park).

Starting from Azneft Square, head north/east through Dənizkənarı Milli Park for 2.3 km. There’s a wide seafront path, additional paths, as well as shops, restaurants, museums, and recreation areas. Continue east on Neftchilar Avenue (a busy commercial street with decent sidewalk) for 0.5 km to New City Park, in the newer part of town. Do a quick loop of the park, and then head east through the Ağ Şəhər Bulvarı, a waterfront park, with wide paths, and great views of the water and Baku’s newer skyscrapers. The path ends at a viewpoint just past the Baku Marriott Hotel Boulevard.
Add-Ons: Additional paths in Dənizkənarı Milli Park & Ağ Şəhər Bulvarı park. Can also combine with waterfront path south/west to Memorial Park.

There's nearly 16 of continuous, wide open seafront paths in Baku, with great views the Caspian Sea. This route extends south/west from the center to Baku Crystal Hall and Memorial Park. Great water views! Can be combined with our north/east route.
This route is focused on Philarmonia Garden and the Old City (Icherisheher), where we recommend going early and creating your own route among its narrow streets. Can combine with our Central City/Parks route and waterfront paths.
A hilly run, rewarded with great views! It's 80m over 1.5 km to Highland Park, which features great views of the city and the Flame Towers. From there, it's another 80m climb over 1.5 km to the TV Tower, where there are some additional hilly paths for running.
A 'runseeing' tour of central Baku, taking in major sites, fountains, and parks such as Zorge Park, Füzuli Park, & Mərkəzi Park. Full route is 13 km, but can be shortened.
Several km of running in the eastern part of Baku incorporating New City Park, Hərbi Qənimətlər Parkı and the outdoor Army Museum, and the waterside Ağ Şəhər Bulvarı Park. Add with our waterfront route headed west toward central Baku.
In the northeastern part of Baku, stitch together a few km around the Heydar Aliyev Centre, Congress Center, and Convention Park. There are wide open plazas, green spaces, & water features. Just west is a running track.
