This route is a great way to explore the bucolic campus of Bard College and its outskirts, using roads and pathways to enjoy the varied scenery. For a longer run, enjoy a jaunt to the Montgomery Place National Historic Landmark.

Campus Route: Begin at the Stevenson Athletic Center, and wind around Annadale Rd. (Rt. 103), passing under the castle (Center for Civic Engagement) and over to Robbins dorm. Then, RIGHT on Manor Ave. from the Fisher Center, enjoying dramatic views of the Hudson Valley. Below Manor Ave is a beautiful green field and the Parliament of Reality, an art installation on top of a koi pond. From the end of Manor Ave, continue along Campus Road, for nearly 1 mile. At the end, cross Rt. 103 and back down to Annadale Rd. From here, run down and up along Blithewood Ave to the Blithewood overlook, with great views of the gardens and river. From Blithewood, return, circling the Hessel Museum and then make another left to continue on the path behind the dorms. Lastly, you run on a path through a forest (Admissions Office on the left) to the start, enjoying the relaxing sounds of a stream flowing under the path.

Longer Run: Montgomery Place. Add on 1.6 miles to run along Annandale Rd. (Rt. 103) to Montgomery Place, a 380-acre historic estate surrounded by woodlands and orchards. Enjoy the stunning view at the back porch of the estate. It’s 3.2 miles out and back, turning around at the monument.
