The 13-mile Heritage Trail follows the former Erie Railroad through New York’s Orange County, between Middletown and Harriman. It’s a spectacular paved/crushed limestone route with good views and plenty of historic landmarks. Especially nice during the fall foliage season. Also called the Erie Main Line Trail on maps.
Access points are in Harriman, Monroe, Chester and Goshen, all with convenient parking.
