Shunyi Xincheng Binhe Forest Park, located in the Shunyi District northeast of the urban core, is one of the best places in Beijing for a long run. There are nearly 13 km of paths in this park, including a wide, poplar-lined trail along the Chaobai River. There are views of the water, some beautiful poplar-lined sections, and interior, more forested trails. We’ve mapped two routes that can be combined. There are public toilets at numerous spots in the park. Bonus: Paths lit at night. Note: Only 15 km east of Beijing International Airport.
Southern Route: Starting at the SW Gate off Youdi Rd., our southern route is a 10-miler, using the riverside path that heads south to Longtang Rd., and then interior paths for the return.
Northern Route Through Jianhe Park: From the Wangchao Homeland Parking Lot, this northern route is a 10k loop. Head north along the riverside path, crossing Fuqian St. into Jianhe Park. Run for up to 4 km to Tongshun Rd. Turn around and head back south for 1 km, and then cross the pedestrian bridge to enjoy a ~2 km loop around Constitution Square (Xian Fa Guang Chang), using the southern end pedestrian bridge to cross back over for the return. Options for shorter, and longer (combine with southern route).
- Southern Route: Up to 8 km one-way, or a 16 km out and back; Northern Route: Loop of up to 10k. Can be combined.
