An awe-inspiring 'runseeing' tour of the Forbidden City/Tiananmen Square area. Massive area with the large, pedestrian complex of the Palace Museum, surrounded by ornate and historical parks. Includes Jingshan Park, Beihai Park.
In the Forbidden City area, this run combines the small Dongdan Park with the 1.4 km path through a park with relics of the Ming Dynasty wall. Run standalone or combine with our Beijing 'Runseeing' Tour.
A favorite run in central Beijing, and a good alternative to the crowds in the Forbidden City area. Temple of Heaven Park features grand plazas and impressive buildings, plus some forested sections. Longtan Lake Park has 4 km of scenic lakefront paths.
Built for the Olympics, Olympic Forest Park is a large, man-made nature park at the north end of the Olympic Green in Beijing. It's one of the best spots in Beijing for jogging. There jogging paths, with lengths of 3k, 5k, and 10k. The south section is near the Convention Ctr.
Beijing’s largest park and one of the quietest places for running in central Beijing. It’s very green, with many paved paths interlacing the park. Note: admission required. A path connects to Honglingjin Park, which has a 2 km path around a lake.
Located in the Haidan District in northwestern Beijing, the park has 3 lakes filled with lily pads, and walkways surrounded by bamboo. There are about 5km worth of paths in the park.
Located in the Haidan District and about 4km south of Purple Bamboo Park. A good running spot, with about 6km of trails. The park is most famous for its nearly 3,000 cherry blossom trees, which bloom in late March/early April.
Running around the university is a good way to get off Beijing's busy streets. Adjoining is YuanMingyuan Park to which features lovely gardens and trails. It's ~5 miles around the perimeter of the park.
Large park along the Chaobai River in the Shunyi District is one of the best places in Beijing for a long run. 13+ km of riverside and interior more forested paths. Also some lovely poplar-lined sections. Beautiful in autumn!
Worth it spot for a longer off-road run! Dayunhe Forest Park is located 15 km east of Beijing and features 15+ km of scenic paths on the east & west sides of the Beiyunhe River. Waterside & wooded sections & numerous scenic spots.
