Back Bay Tour

This is a 3.7 mile tour of some of Boston’s highlights. Starting at the State House (Park St. station on the T), run through the Boston Common and Public Garden. Crossing Arlington St. and enjoy the famed Commonwealth Ave. Mall, a path flanked by trees and memorials, and the famed Back Bay brownstones on either side. Noticed the ascending alphabet of streets, from Arlington to Hereford. Then, take a right on Massachusetts Ave., which has a ramp leading to the river, and do the return along the Charles River Esplanade. The final bit is along lovely Charles St., with many boutiques and restaurants.

You can can start this route at any point, depending on where you are staying. A nice add-on would be to run along Newbury St., which is Back Bay’s famous shopping street, and parallels Comm. Ave., and Boylston St., crossing the Marathon Finish Line right near the Boston Public Library and Marathon Sports.
