Bulskampveld Area

Wikimedia Commons

The Bulskampveld forest area, located 12 km south of Bruges, has 150+ km of wonderful trails, most of which are terrific for running. There’s excellent variety here, from the walled landscaped gardens around the Bulskampveld Castle to stately avenues, quiet roads past country residences, and many km of wooded paths. One loop, developed by the local tourist office, is a 9 km ‘walking route’ that’s selection of some of the main alleys and paths near the castle.

There are numerous additional way-marked ‘walking loops’ that depart from the Castle and that are great for running — see this link and get a map at the Visitor Center, which is located at the entrance to the Gardens.

Note: The area is free and open 24×7. The gardens might have a fee and running right within them might not be appropriate.
