Table Mountain – Pipe Track

capetowndailyphoto.com

This is one of the most scenic and accessible trail running options near central Cape Town and a way to experience Table Mountain. A trail called Pipe Track runs along a water pipeline, and features great views of the mountain, beach, and city. It is mainly a gravel road/path, well way-marked, and not too hilly or steep for the first 3 km.

We’ve mapped the trail up to 4.5 km one-way, to the Woody Ravine Trail, after which Pipe Track continues but becomes progressively more challenging. Climbing starts at the intersection with the Kasteelsport Hiking Trail.

Essentials
  • We've mapped 4.5 km one-way, to intersection with Woody Ravine Trail. It's 9 km (5.5 miles) out and back
  • 204m (671 feet) over out and back. More if you keep going...
  • Kloof Rd. & Camps Bay Rd.
