Suomenlinna is an inhabited fortress built on six islands. It is accessible only by water; ferry service runs throughout the year from Kauppatori market square and the ride takes 15–20min. Suomenlinna offers a totally different kind of setting for your run; you pass fortress walls, old courtyards, church, barracks, cannons and even a submarine Vesikko used in World War II.
