South Kitchener Parks

Creative Commons: Mcguy15

A series of paths connect several adjacent parks in the Westmount & Laurentian Hills neighborhoods in South Kitchener, forming a ‘linear park’ that makes for a pleasant off-road run. This route combines Lakeside Park, Concordia Park, Laurentian Park, and McLennan Park, for a nearly 10k loop. The path connecting them is the Borden Greenway.

Start near St. Mary’s Hospital off Queen Blvd., and run south through Lakeside Park on the paved path, passing a small lake. Cross Greenbrook and continue through Concordia Park and Laurentian Park. Then use the path through Hydro Corridor Open Space to connect to McLennan Park, which is built on a former landfill and features quite open terrain. Good hills here!  Exit the park, LEFT onto Ottawa St. to connect back to the path through Concordia & Lakeside Park.

Add-Ons: For a longer run, incorporate Victoria Park, using Queen’s Blvd. to connect them.

Essentials
  • 9.4 km (5.8 mile loop)
