Features:
This is another pleasant multi-park route in Kitchener, anchored by the historic Victoria Park. A greenway links Victoria Park with several natural open spaces. The full route is 13 km, but can easily be shorter or longer.
Start at Victoria Park, where you can do a ~3 km loop of the park’s paths, passing its historic clock tower and lake. Then head southwest along a the creek-side Henry Sturm Greenway, through Filsinger Natural Area, continuing for another 3 km through Monarch Woods Park and Lynnvalley Park. At this point you’ll be at 8 km, where you can either retrace your steps for the return, or do our looped route through Eastforest Park. After a brief section on Highland Ave., reconnect with the Greenway for the return.
Add-Ons/Variations: For a longer run, incorporate our South Kitchener Greenway route. Also, just south of Victoria Park, you’ll cross the Iron Horse Trail.
- Up to 13.2 km (8.2 miles); can be shortened
- 57m (186 feet)
- Victoria Park
- Light Rail: Victioria Park
