This is our guide to running in Cornwall, a rugged peninsula on England’s southwestern tip. Our focus is mainly on the coastal towns, with terrific running along waterfront promenades, easier sections of coastal headland, as well as some wonderful beaches and multi-use trails. Starting at the Devon border at Mount Edgcumbe, there are great routes in the south coast ‘Cornish Riviera’ harbour villages of Fowey, Falmouth, & Porthleven, working our way to the western end at Penzance, Land’s End, & St. Ives, and then the headlands and beaches of the north coast seaside resorts of Newquay & Bude. Some of the best places to run in Cornwall:
Headlands: Rame Head, Land’s End, R Godfrey, St. Agnes Head, Newquay area
Waterfront Paths: Fowey, Falmouth, Porthleven, Penzance
Runnable Beaches: Hayle Beach, Perranporth Beach, Whipsiderry Beach
Multi-Use Trails: Camel Trail (Padstow), St. Austell. Truro, Bude
Estates: & Castles: Mt. Edgcumbe, Pendennis Castle (Falmouth)
