The beaches are the highlight of running near Panama City and Destin, but the Timpoochee Trail is worth a mention. It’s one of the best bets in the area for a longer off-road run. This paved multi-use path runs alongside E County Highway 30A for most of its 19-mile length between Dune Allen and Rosemary Beach. It’s a great way to access the beach, Topsail Hill Preserve State Park, Grayton Beach State Park, or Deer Lake State Park, where there are some additional trails.

Some of the sections along Highway 30A aren’t so scenic. Nicer parts are Topsail Hill Preserve State Park (additional trails), Grayton Beach State Park, and Deer Lake State Park. There aren’t really any beach/water views from the trail.
