FSU Campus, Capitol, Florida A&M Campus

Two university campuses, a state Capitol, and two running tracks — all in one run! Use our route as a guideline. Combines Florida State University, Florida A&M, and a jaunt to Capitol Hill. It’s ~8 miles, but can be shortened to ~5 miles by cutting out the Florida A&M section. There are even a couple of hills!

Start at the heart of FSU, at Traditions Way, and do a ~2 mile loop of the campus. A nice pedestrian section is the Legacy Walk, at the end of which is a terrific running track. Next, run ~1 mile east to Capitol Hill. W Jefferson St. is our preferred street. Then, cross S. Monroe and take the path through Cascades Park for ~1 mile, continuing along Famu Way. Turn LEFT on Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd, into the campus of Florida A&M, enjoying some of the interior pedestrian paths. There’s a running track between MLK Blvd. & Wahnish Way. To return to the start, head west on Kissimmee St. for 3/4 mile to the intersection with the, St. Mark’s Historic RR State Trail, and turn RIGHT (north) on this multi-use path. Run for 3/4 mile to Lake Elberta, run around the north side of the lake, continuing into the FSU campus.

Variations: Shorten the run by eliminating the Florida A&M section. Can also add on or combine with our St. Mark’s Historic RR State Trail and Cascades Park routes.

Essentials
