Where the Neris River reaches north out of Vilnius, visitors will find the exquisite Verkiai Regional Park, which consists of the 18th century neoclassical Verkiai Palace, the famed Green Lakes of Lithuania, and 2,673 hectares of green parkland. There are a variety of roads and trails through the park, including the western end of the Neris River path. PARK INFO. Here are two particularly recommended running options:
Palace Loop: An asphalt circuit around the immediate palace grounds, which are beautiful and landscaped, and boasts an incredible vista of Vilnius. It’s the ‘Dvaro g’ path, about 2 km.
Lakes Loop: A series of quiet country roads and boardwalks surrounding the lakes.
