For a good off-road run in the western part of Winston-Salem, we recommend the Muddy Creek Greenway. The paved multi-use path follows the barely discernible Muddy Creek for 3 miles, from just north of Robinhood Rd., south to Country Club Rd. The path is in the Brookberry Farm neighborhood, about 8 miles west of downtown. The scenery is a combination of wooded and some open farm fields.
There are several small trails that come off the Greenway, providing access into the nearby neighborhoods, which are also decent for running.
