Tanglewood Park

Google Street View

Tanglewood Park, located in the Clemmons neighborhood south of downtown, is one of the largest parks for running in the Winston-Salem area. The 1,000 acre park has numerous trails for running, and is a popular mountain biking spot. A paved, 1.75-mile multi-use trail is the best bet for an easy off-road run. You can also enjoy some of the more rugged mountain bike trails, but keep an eye out.

The neighborhoods around Tanglewood Park are also nice for running. Just east of the park, meander the streets of the Clemmons West neighborhood. Or, use Harper Rd. to cross I-40 into the Meadowbrook Estates neighborhood. You can also try sneaking into the gated Bermuda Run neighborhood just west of the park — quiet streets, attractive homes, golf courses.

Essentials
  • The multi-use path is a 1.75 km loop.
  • Rolling hills
  • Off Clemmons Rd. Harper Rd. exit off I-40
