Brackenridge Park, located at the northern end of the River Walk trail, is a nice spot for a run. It can be run standalone or on combination with a section of the River Walk. The 35-acrepublic park, locally known as ‘The Brak’ features bike and running trails, the Japanese Tea Gardens, Botanical Garden, and the San Antonio Zoo.

We’ve mapped a ~3.5 mile route around the park’s main trails, which are between E Mulberry Ave. & E Hildenbrand Ave., and out to the Japanese Tea Garden. We also include a jaunt out to a terrific running track, which is just across HWY 281 (use Tuleta Dr.).

Add-On: River Walk trail, headed south. Also, the Mahncke Park neighborhood, just east of Brackenridge Park, is pleasant for running. There’s a 2-mile loop around Mahncke Park, using a walking path alongside Parland Pl. to the Botanical Garden. Note: Jogging in the Botanical Garden is not permitted.
