Parque Jose Enrique Rodó is a wonderful, centrally located park in Montevideo. While in itself not a long run, the paths and perimeter roads are a running pleasure. Lots of green, a lake, and several important sights and landmarks: A fountain at the main entrance off Rbla. Pdte. Wilson, Municipal Art Museum, a small lake Visual Arts Museum, and a sports complex/small stadium to the east. A loop around the perimeter paths is about 2 km, with some opportunities to add on using the criss-crossing paths.

Longer Run: For a wonderful longer run, combine this with a section of the Rambla. Specifically, we’ve mapped a 6.8 km loop along the Senda Peatonal Rambla paralleling Rbla. Pdte. Wilson, including a jaunt down to the lighthouse. On the return, use the Rambla path, or the grand Bulevar General Artigas (wide, tree-lined boulevard), then LEFT on Bulevar General Artigas.

The side streets to the west of the park are also decent for some exploratory running, straight and tree-lined, with some nice older buildings.
