Combining Masterston Station Park and the Town Branch Trail makes for a nice park and path run in northern Lexington. Masterson Station Park is an equestrian venue, with numerous facilities and open grounds for riding. A run on Ruffian Way is a good way to see the park’s scenic grounds. It’s 2 miles through the park, or 4 miles out and back. For a longer run, the Town Branch Trail is a paved multi-use path that runs south of the park alongside open fields and farms. It’s 2 miles from the park to Citation Blvd. If you combine Masterston Station Park and the Town Branch Trail fully out and back, it’s an 8 mile route.

At the northern end of Masterston Station Park, the attractive roads passing by horse farms and fields are a popular run for locals. This is rolling hill terrain using Spurr Rd. and Bethel Rd.
Here's an opportunity to get a taste of the Horse Capital of the World. Start with a loop around the grounds of Keeneland, and then enjoy one or more of these three routes on bucolic roads passing fields and horse farms.
This gorgeous run on rolling hills past horse farms just west of Lexington is a popular weekend route of the Bluegrass Runners Club. Can be combined with Keeneland and two other horse farm loops we've mapped.
Hisle Farm Park offers runners a great opportunity to get a taste of horse farm country for which this area is famous. The 280-acre park has 3.5 miles of lovely rolling hill trails through fields, with 1-mile and 2.5-mile loops.
Terrific trail running in this 734 acre woodland preserve located 15 miles south of downtown Lexington. There are 10 miles of color-coded trails, with good footing and rolling hills. The 'Red Trail' is the signature loop.
Mix a trail run and a craft brew! West Sixth Farm is a farm/brewery that also operates a ~4 mile trail system popular for trail running and mountain biking. The farm is situated in gorgeous countryside in Frankfort, 30 miles northwest of Lexington.
