Booker T Washington State Park

Booker T Washington State Park is another good spot in the Chattanooga area for some trail running. Located 13 miles east of downtown on Chickamaugua Lake and the Tennessee River, the park features nearly 10 miles of  trails. Note that the trails are mainly wooded and there isn’t much in the way of lake views. The best option for a run in Booker T Washington State Park is the 3.9-mile Outer Loop trail. For a longer run, combine with the two inner loop trails (2.2 and 1.2 miles).

There’s a large public Olympic-sized swimming pool in the park, popular in summer. Go for a post run dip!

Essentials
  • 10 miles of trails. Outer Loop trail is 3.9 miles. Can be combined with 2.2 and 1.2 Inner Loop trails
  • Some hilly terrain
  • Near park entrance
