Glengarriff Woods Nature Preserve

Creative Commons 4.0: Nilachseall

Glengarriff is a popular stop on the Ring of Beara route, for its scenic location at the northern head of Glengarriff Bay. A nice spot for a run in the area is Glengarriff Woods Nature Preserve, a 740-acre old oak woodland opening out into Glengarriff Harbour. There are 7-8 km of scenic walking trails that are lovely for running. It’s a mix of woodland, a River Walk, and some grassland. A couple of the trails are more rugged. For a climb, take the steep footpath to Lady Bantry’s Lookout.

Also site of a weekly parkrun.
