Features:
This is a nice opportunity to run on a quiet waterfront road and path in Schull — the principal village on the peninsula that ends in Mizen Head – Ireland’s most southerly point. The town has a cute harbour and fun shops & restaurants. Our route along the water starts in the center, and follows Pier Rd., with a jaunt out to the pier. Then, follow the waterfront path that leads to The Dog Hole, rejoining Colla Rd. to the Colla Trail Head. It’s a quiet waterfront road with nice views of the water and Mount Gabriel.
Add-Ons: There are lots of lovely country roads in the area that make for some scenic running. But, they are very narrow, with no shoulder. Use caution!
Essentials
- 4.75 miles (7.5 km) out and back
- 241 feet (73m)
- Pier Rd.
