In the northern part of Wiesbaden, there are some excellent running opportunities in area of Neroberg and the Rabengrund von Wiesbaden nature preserve. Neroberg is Wiesbaden’s 245m high ‘local mountain’. For the most part, the running in this area is on wooded, hilly trails. Generally the footing is good.

Neroberg Area. For a nice warmup, do the 1.6 km loop around Nerotal-Anlagen, a pretty park with nicely landscaped paths, a small river, and various sculptures and statues. For Neroberg, you can take the funicular railway to the summit, or take the trail, which is 0.6 km long and climbs 44m to the summit. From the summit, connect to a large network of tracks and trails leading north into Rabengrund von Wiesbaden. Note: hilly!

Rabengrund von Wiesbaden. This 79 hectare preserve located in Wiesbaden’s SonnenbergD District features a large network of trails. The terrain is fairly hilly, and a combination of meadows and woods. There’s a good number of wide trail with easy footing (more like a dirt road), and also some narrower wooded trails or grassy paths through meadows. You can do many km in here! Note: We could not find a good digital trail map of the area.
