This is a 5k ‘runseeing’ tour of the central, historic section of Wiesbaden. See many of the city’s impressive squares, cultural institutions, and popular shopping areas. Most of the route is along pedestrian-only streets or median paths. Easily extend the route with Wiesbaden’s historic Kurpark, located just across Wilhelmstraße.

Start at Kochbrunnen, a charming square with a fountain. Use the pedestrianized Langasse as the anchor street, running for 1 km south through a commercial area with lots of stores. At the lovely Luisenplatz square, cross Rheinstraße, and then run on the pedestrianized median along Adolfsallee for 0.7 km to the highway. [Optional Add-On: Run 1 km east to the running track at Brit-Arena]. Then, curl back on paths through Reisinger-Anlagen park, and then on paths/squares surrounding the RheinMain Congress Center and the Reinhard Ernst Museum & Wiesbaden Museum. The final section is the major Dernsches Gelände/Schloßplatz square, with its important Marktkirche Church, City Palace, and State Parliament (Hessischer Landtag).

Add-Ons: For a longer run, cross Wilhelmstraße to Kurpark, and add some or all of that 7k route.
