Yauza Park is one of the best large parks for running in Moscow. The long & narrow park, which has undergone extensive redevelopment in recent years, stretches between the Moscow Ring Road (MKAD) and the new Severo-Vostochnaya Khorda (CBX) Road, straddling the Babushkinsky, Severnoye Medvedkovo, and Yuzhnoye Medvedkov districts. There are extensive options for running here: interior park paths, the Yauza Eco-Park, and a cycle path along the Yauza River. There are also numerous sports & recreational facilities, including fields and outdoor fitness machines.
For running, you can have your pick! There are about 20 km of pedestrian paths, passing through a combination of open & wooded terrain. There are lots of shade options for a hot day! Some paths are paved and others are gravel. You can also run on a paved cycle path along the narrow Yauza River. It’s ~7 km north-south, and there are paths alongside both banks most of the way. At around the mid-way point there’s a wide paved promenade that features landscaping and cafes. There’s a running track at Стадион Свиблово.
Add-Ons: Just south of the CBX road is Park Ostankino, another large park with big open green spaces, walking paths, a running track, plus the 18th-century Ostankino Manor at its south end. There’s also a wide, 2 km plaza in the area of the All-Russian Exhibition Centre.
