Honfleur: Harbor, Beach, & Parks

Mark Miller

Honfleur, located 20 km north of Deauville, is a charming town with a picturesque harbor on the Seine that inspired Monet and other impressionist painters. There’s some wonderful running in Honfleur, combining waterfront promenades, the beach, harbor, and some parks.

Pro tip: The reflections of the colorful buildings and awnings in the still water are beautiful, especially in the early morning before the crowds.

Seafront Promenade. A path runs along the Seine River for up to 12 km. There are great views of the river and the cable-stayed Pont de Normandie. Starts on the east side of the harbor. ROUTE MAP

Harbor/Marina Run. There are some nice paths around the Port de Honfleur (harbor), where La Morelle meets the Seine. Explore those and head to the Seine River paths on the east side of the basin, or on the west side, head down to Le Jardin des Personnalités, which garden with lovely paths and the gateway to Honfleur Beach.
