Södermalm, or Söder as locals call it, is an island in south Stockholm. The vibe in Södermalm is relaxed and trendy, and it was selected as the coolest neighborhood in Europe by Vogue magazine in 2014. Running a loop around the island is a treat. Start your run at Södermalm market square which is easily accessible by public transportation (Slussen stop). Head west and enjoy views in Montelusvägen — a walking path looking over the waterfront to Kungsholmen. Continue further west and climb to Skinnarviksberget, a hill offering another breathtaking view over the city. Run to waterfront and make a loop around the island. Probably the most scenic parts of the loop are a path from Tantolunden in the west to Eriksdalsbadet in the south, and northeast area of the island when you run along the waterfront with Gamla Stan on your right.
