Southern Stockholm: Skärholmen Area Waterfront & Forest Preserve

Johan Fredriksson

In southern Stockholm, there’s some nice, easy trail running in the Skärholmen area. From just north of Mälarhöjdsbadet beach, we’ve mapped a route on the trail that runs closest to the water for up to 4.7 one-way. It’s fairly wooded, but there are some nice water views. Bonus: some of the paths are lit!

There are also additional trails just east of our mapped route, part of the Sätra Forest Nature Preserve.

Option: Vårbergstoppen Park. At 4.7 km, the trail turns inland and leads to Vårbergstoppen park. This is a steady, 70m climb over 2 km

Essentials
  • Up to 6.4 km one-way, with good add-on options
  • 110m (363 feet) one-way
  • North End: near Mälarhöjdsbadet beach
  • Parking lot at Mälarhöjdsbadet beach; Metro Station: Mälarhöjden or Vårberg
