Happy Valley Reservoir

Creative Commons: Luke Anderson

Located just 35 minutes south of Adelaide, the Happy Valley Reservoir offers several kilometers of scenic walking trails with views across the water to the Adelaide Hills. There’s something for everyone here, including some options for some nice hills! There’s easy parking and restroom facilities.

The signature run is the 11 km Shoreline Loop, which features a nice variety of scenery as it traverses the reservoir’s edge: water views, pine forest, and open grassy areas. Rolling hills! Other options:

Southern Loop: 2 km, gentle hills

Woodland Loop: 4 km, short steep hills

Boundary Loop: 10.5 km,  steep hills

Note: This is a popular area for mountain biking. Keep an eye out!
