Accessible by either car or bus by following Port Road, this lake loop is a paved 5.8 km (3.6 mile) path around the picturesque lake north of the city, adjacent to gorgeous lakefront homes. The trail can get narrow at times, sometimes down to 1 meter, so be careful of other trail users. There is usually a grass section you can veer onto. It’s a great standalone run or as part of a longer run from the CBD, coast, or the Coastal Trail.
Run to West Lakes from the CBD (14 km): We recommend heading northwest on Port St. Left onto West Lakes Bvld. which you follow around to the right at the large four way crossing (intersects with Clark Terrace and a train line). Note: Busy road
Run to West Lakes from the Coast: Following the Coastal Trail north (see our route there), 3 km past Henley Beach and heading slightly inland when you arrive at the small Audrey St coastal carpark you will arrive at the south most point of this trail.
