Brisbane Coastal: Manly to Wynnum

Wikimedia Commons

This is another wonderful waterfront run in Brisbane’s eastern coastal bayside suburbs, overlooking the Coral Sea. Between Manly and Wynnum, there’s a paved path right along the water, passing through numerous parks, with great water views the whole way.

Starting in Bayside Park on the beautiful Manly Esplanade, head north following the esplanade past George Clayton Park. The Wynnum foreshore, which features a jetty and wading pool at the 2 km point, is a popular turnaround point for those who want something shorter. To go the full distance, the esplanade can be continued, across the Wynnum Creek bridge until you reach the turnaround point at the Wynnum Mangroves. This is a nice park with beautiful views of the bay.

Add-Ons:  The path continues south from Bayside Park in Manly for 2 km to the Lota Reserve. From there, there are additional paths inland through some open fields next to the Lota Creek.

Essentials
  • 10 km (6.2 miles) out and back. It's another 2 km south from Manly to Lota
  • Flat
  • Manly: Bayside Park
  • Car is the best option, but there is a train station in Manly
